Testing may be required prior to starting a new job or insurance policy. Additionally, your workplace or athletic program may randomly test you after hire or acceptance into their program to ensure no drug/substance abuse. Testing may also be mandated by court-order.
If there is a known or suspected substance abuse patient, a healthcare provider may order testing to monitor abuse and compliance. Testing is also used to monitor prescribed medications, if you are pregnant or need an organ transplant, or if you have any symptoms that may suggest drug intoxication/overdose.
