Triiodothyronine (T3) Tests

This test detects the level of Triiodothyronine (T3) in our blood. T3 is one of two major hormones made by our thyroid.

WHY SHOULD I GET TESTED?

T3 test is frequently used to diagnose hyperthyroidism, a disorder in which the body makes too much thyroid hormone.

A Triiodothyronine (T3) is used to monitor treatment for thyroid disease. T3 tests are often ordered with T4 and TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) tests.
